About The Event
Water is at the core of sustainable development and is critical for socio-economic development, energy and food production, healthy ecosystems and for human survival itself. Water is also at the heart of adaptation to climate change, serving as the crucial link between society and the environment (UN).
The panelists at this event are Alan Shapiro and Banu Örmeci, and now Natasha Jansen. Alan is a Vancouver-based water and sustainability professional and an instructor in BCIT's School of Business + Media. Banu is a professor at Carleton University and Jarislowsky Chair in Water and Global Health, and Canada Research Professor. Natasha is a Professional Engineer with 8 years of experience in municipal wastewater treatment and collections
In this panel discussion involving Alan, Banu, and Natasha, we seek to discuss these global issues within our local context imagining the future of water infrastructure. This conversation is sure to be interesting and challenging for both the panelists and the audience. We'll be exploring questions like:
